After months of teasing some of their brand-new, one-of-a-kind collaborations, The Comeback (Deluxe) from GRAMMY Award-winning group Zac Brown Band is available everywhere today (LISTEN HERE). Physical CD and vinyl copies of the album are available for pre-order/sale beginning today as well before hitting stores on January 27th, 2023. MusicRow exclusively announced that the CMA Vocal Group of the Year nominee had one more special guest to surprise fans with: legendary hitmaker Jimmy Buffett. Buffett is featured on the band’s chart-topping hit “Same Boat,” which became their 16th career No. 1 radio single, having accumulated more than 140 million global streams to date.
Lead singer Zac Brown enlisted a talented group of his musical friends and heroes for the reimagined versions, of previous released tracks, that comprise The Comeback (Deluxe). Their latest “audio-nirvana collaboration” (MusicRow) features 3x GRAMMY nominee Ingrid Andress on “Any Day Now,” where “her piercing soprano underlines the chorus message of regret…and the result is gorgeously melodic dynamite” (MusicRow).
Multi-platinum-selling artist Cody Johnson joined the band on “Wild Palomino,” called a “standout because of the added emotional depth bolstered by Johnson's distinctive vocal delivery” by Taste of Country. Whiskey Riff applauds how Jamey Johnson’s vocals make “[‘Stubborn Pride (with Marcus King)’] that much more powerful. We’re talking about one of the best voices in all of mainstream country music, one of the best songwriters in country music history in Jamey Johnson, and the incredibly talented Marcus King joining forces for beautiful harmonies, and unique transitions in vocals between the three artists.”
Iconic singer/songwriter James Taylor lends his musicianship to “Love and Sunsets” while their current Top 15 radio single “Out in the Middle” gets new life with the addition of country superstar Blake Shelton for a “foot-stomping anthem…[where] vocals from ZBB frontman Zac Brown blend seamlessly with Shelton’s signature pipes” (Country Now).
Earlier this summer, GRAMMY.com caught up with all nine members for their “On the Road” series, captured at the GRAMMY Block Party in Nashville (WATCH HERE). The clip gives an incredible overview of what you can find on their current international “Out in the Middle Tour,” as well as strong insight into the band’s genre diversity in live cover performances. The band made their 13th visit to Boston’s Fenway Park, where they hold the record for most consecutive sold-out shows, following a performance to a crowd of nearly 30,000 fans at Truist Park in their hometown of Atlanta. They are set to visit more iconic venues in the coming months, including the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (11/4). Upon release, The Comeback jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Current Country Albums Sales chart and was the Top New Country Album Release. Brown boasts a co-writer credit on every song and also co-produced the entire record alongside frequent collaborator, Ben Simonetti.
