Today, Warner Music Nashville/Home Grown Music’s Zac Brown Band is giving listeners another taste of their GRAMMY® award-winning, distinct sound with the release of two new tracks: “Out In The Middle” and “Old Love Song.” Both were penned by Brown and co-writers Luke Combs, Ben Simonetti and Jonathan Singleton.
“‘Out In The Middle’ is southern-rock storytelling about being proud of being country, living a simple life, and working hard,” Brown says. “It’s a tip of the hat to the people who live out in the middle of nowhere and they’re happy being there. People that live in the city often make fun of country people until they come out and experience it for themselves. Then they really get into it. There’s a reason that you stay out there.” WATCH the lyric video HERE.
“Old Love Song” is a stand-out, sharing the band’s signature take on a song about songs. “This is all the songs that you fell in love to. It was like a puzzle trying to put together all the song titles we really love,” Brown explains, “and making that into a love song. I grew up listening to oldies -- songs a lot older than I was. And this song has that feel to it.” The song combines love-song titles from all eras and genres of music, from artists like Al Green, Randy Travis, Tom Petty, Keith Whitley and more. The double single release comes directly on the heels of Zac Brown Band’s unifying radio single, “Same Boat,” which was the most-added at country radio week of impact and is rapidly approaching Top 20. With nearly 8 million global streams to date, the poignant song debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and No. 34 at Country Aircheck/Mediabase.
For more than a decade, Zac Brown Band has topped the charts, with six consecutive albums reaching the top 10 on the Billboard 200 and five consecutive albums debuting at No. 1 on Billboard's Country Albums chart. To date, the group has won three Grammy Awards (including Best New Artist in 2010), sold more than 30 million singles, nine million albums, amassed nearly ten billion catalog streams, achieved 15 No. 1 radio singles, and is the second act to top both the Country and Active Rock format charts.
Up next for the band is The Comeback Tour, which kicks off in August in Holmdel, NJ and runs through October. Purchase tickets HERE.
