Warner Music Nashville artists can be found in every 2022 CMT Music Awards category, celebrating 13 total nominations across the board. First-time nominees BRELAND and Cody Johnson earned three nods each followed by superstar Kenny Chesney with two. Acclaimed hitmakers Gabby Barrett, Dan + Shay, Ashley McBryde, Cole Swindell and Zac Brown Band round out this year’s nominations.
Cody Johnson is up for Male Video of the Year (“Til You Can’t”) and the newly created CMT Digital-First Performance of the Year (“Dear Rodeo” from CMT Campfire Sessions), in addition to the highly coveted Video of the Year award alongside Kenny Chesney and Cole Swindell.
Nominated for Breakthrough Video of the Year (“Cross Country”), BRELAND will also face off against himself with two nominations for CMT Performance of the Year (“Friendship Train” from 2021 CMT Music Awards with Mickey Guyton & Gladys Knight, “Ride Wit Me” from CMT Crossroads: Nelly & Friends with Nelly, Kane Brown & Blanco Brown).
Reigning Female Video of the Year winner Gabby Barrett will defend her title again this year for “Footprints on the Moon.” Meanwhile, both Chesney (“half of my hometown” with Kelsea Ballerini) and Ashley McBryde (“Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Carly Pearce) are up for Collaborative Video of the Year. Group/Duo Video of the Year features two more WMN noms for Dan + Shay (“Steal My Love”) and Zac Brown Band (“Same Boat”).
The 2022 CMT Music Awards will broadcast live from Nashville on Monday, April 11 (8:00-11:00 PM LIVE ET/delayed PT). This marks the inaugural broadcast of the CMT MUSIC AWARDS on the CBS Television Network, which will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*. Each winner is selected by the fans, with voting now open at vote.cmt.com.
