Warner Music Nashville’s BEXAR announced today the release of their major label debut EP, Pronounced BEAR, available everywhere on September 3. A nod to the phonetic spelling of the band name, the EP was produced by award-winning producers Ross Copperman and Luke Laird and features six tracks that showcase BEXAR’s fresh and expressive sound. Pre-order the EP HERE.
“This project is the cumulation of years of work and persistence by our whole team,” said the band. “These songs mean the world to us. We feel like they are a true representation of who we are as musicians and more importantly as people.”
To coincide with the EP announce, BEXAR has released “Key To Life,” one of the six tracks from the forthcoming collection (LISTEN HERE). Cowritten by the band’s Chris Ryan alongside Barry Dean and Luke Laird, the banjo-filled song provides a glimpse into the blend of Kentucky bluegrass and Texas country that encapsulates BEXAR’s sound. “Key To Life” follows the release of “One Day” and “Again,” the band’s first major label song. “Again” was co-written alongside Ross Copperman and has been called “serious earworm potential” by Billboard (LISTEN HERE). MusicRow raved about the track, stating “please put this on your playlist at once.” The inspirational and upbeat “One Day” served as another co-write with BEXAR and Copperman, this time joined by Josh Osborne, and encourages listeners to live in the moment and not put off goals and dreams (LISTEN HERE).
As touring resumes across the country, the band is placing their bets on 2021 being their breakout year. Two weeks after the release of the forthcoming EP, they will join superstar Keith Urban on “Keith Urban Live – Las Vegas” from September 17-25. The residency will take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and tickets can be purchased HERE.
BEXAR draws inspiration from groups such as Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and Avicii and reintroduces country to the pop potential of wooden instruments and organic soul. The band, comprised of Chris Ryan (lead vocals/guitar) and Logan Turner (vocals/banjo/guitar), gets its name from Bexar County, TX, where Ryan spent much of his childhood. Since their 2018 self-released EP, the band has accumulated nearly 40 million streams to date and has been named to Sounds Like Nashville’s 2021 Artists To Watch list.
