NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (September 14, 2017) – An artist who regularly uses her voice to help others, RaeLynn is continuing that mission with an upcoming performance and a recent visit to her home state of Texas. As a Novo Nordisk Patient Ambassador, the country star will be performing the national anthem for the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma Verizon IndyCar Series season finale airing live this Sunday, Sept. 17 on NBCSN at 5:30pmCT. RaeLynn will also be teaming up with Verizon IndyCar Series driver and fellow Ambassador Charlie Kimball for a Q&A with race fans on race day.
The singer-songwriter also rushed to help communities in Texas struggling from the catastrophic and devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey. “I am who I am because I grew up in the areas hit by Hurricane Harvey,” said the Baytown, TX native. “I will always do anything and everything I can to help my hometown that’s shaped and inspired every song I sing and every lyric I write. I’m grateful to be able to do that and will continue to do so in the weeks and months to come.”
Until she was able to make the trip herself, RaeLynn immediately took part in multiple Houston area telethons. Raising over $1 million in one day, the donations provided immediate monetary relief to areas that wouldn’t see volunteers for days. The singer then made the trip home, joining her family’s church, Celebration of Life, who opened its doors to anyone seeking refuge from the storm. The ministry has become a distribution center and is aiding the community through its rebuilding process, funded entirely by generous contributions (click here to support). “Everybody surrounding the church got affected, but the church didn’t,” she told Taste of Country. “It’s just a really amazing thing that we can house people that are in need right now.”
The devoted Texan lent her support Tuesday night to HAND IN HAND: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief Telethon, encouraging her fan base to watch the telecast and consider donating. She will continue to amplify her efforts in the coming weeks and months ahead as she hits the road, comforting fans and sharing her positive message (full dates listed below).
