Performing First Major-Label Song Release “Lady Like”
Brand New Track “More Hearts Than Mine” Available Everywhere Friday (4/5)
Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Ingrid Andress is set to make her TV debut Monday, April 15, on one of television’s most visible tastemakers, NBC’s Late Night With Seth Meyers. Andress will perform her first major-label release “Lady Like,” which has already achieved over two million on-demand streams since its release in late February.
Paper Magazine applauded the empowering anthem for having “a sound built on clean pop melodies, but laced with country's swagger and cinematic storytelling in the style of crossover stalwarts like Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift and Kylie Minogue,” praising the way its “lyrical specificity, moments of self-critical vulnerability and raw vocal gravity makes the genre's well-worn motifs sound fresh” (READ HERE). The cinematic music video for her “slow burning anthem of independence” (Rolling Stone) follows the song’s theme of breaking out of the box of gender stereotypes to include all the unframeable women who might not be what society considers a “lady” (WATCH HERE).
Having earned MusicRow's DISCovery award earlier this year, the accomplished songwriter will continue to release new music throughout the year. “More Hearts Than Mine” will be available everywhere this Friday (4/5) just in time for a performance on Saturday (4/6) as part of the 7th Annual ACM Party for a Cause. Andress will join hosts Darius Rucker and Scotty McCreery for the ACM Lifting Lives Topgolf Tee-Off at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. As “arguably one of the most creative tunesmiths to call Nashville home in recent memory” (CMT), she’ll soon announce more upcoming U.S. tour dates having recently wrapped shows in Germany, London, and Glasgow for the C2C: Country To Country music festival.
ABOUT INGRID ANDRESS
Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Ingrid Andress has been chipping away at expectations of herself, and her sound, since she was a young child. As good at sports as she was writing songs, Andress was born into a large family and homeschooled in her youth, growing up outside of the traditional definitions that apply to most kids. Her debut song “Lady Like” addresses how these early life experiences led her to question what females are "supposed" to do, or how they’re supposed to interact with the world around them. Having written with heavy hitters in the music community such as Sam Hunt and Alicia Keys, the acclaimed songwriter has co-writer credits on hits like “Steady 1234” and Charli XCX’s “Boys.” With a voice praised by The New York Times for being "steady, calm, [and] alive," Andress will continue to release new music in 2019 that will prove her to be one of the most unique and moving vocalists in the country space and beyond; one that is thrillingly honest, raw and refreshing in a way rarely seen emanating from Music City.
