HIGH-ON-LIFE TRACK SPENDS 25TH WEEK AT #1 IN AUSTRALIA; SCORES GOLDEN GUITAR AWARD
RISING STAR PLACED PROMINENTLY ON SPOTIFY’S HOT COUNTRY PLAYLIST IN "FIRST VERSE” VIDEO SERIES
Warner Music Nashville / Warner Bros. Records rising star MORGAN EVANS continues to make a global splash with his current chart-climbing single “Day Drunk.” After launching into Country Radio’s Top 40 in the U.S. this week, the Australia native is celebrating the track’s 25th consecutive week at #1 on Country radio in his home country.
“Day Drunk” previously spent 2 weeks at #1 on the TMN Hot 100 airplay chart, making Evans the first Country artist to achieve this feat since 2009 when Taylor Swift reached the top of the charts with “Love Story.” Adding to its international impact, the song has been awarded Single of the Year at Australia’s Golden Guitar Awards.
“Day Drunk” is the latest song to be featured in Evans’ Highway 1 Sessions video series. Following the release of a seaside acoustic performance, the singer/songwriter has also shared the story behind the song – penned about an actual day of celebration. Watch him detail the inspiration behind the high-on-life track here. Songs performed in the Highway 1 Sessions are featured on Evans’ debut album THINGS THAT WE DRINK TO.
The album’s heartfelt ballad “Dance with Me” – featuring Evans’ wife Kelsea Ballerini – is currently spinning on Spotify’s Hot Country playlist. In an exclusive interview for the platform’s “First Verse” series, he gives an inside look at his journey to Nashville, as well as the sentimental story of how the song took shape. Evans continues to bring his “eclectic musicality” and “relentless optimism” (MusicRow) on the road as a special guest with Old Dominion on the MAKE IT SWEET TOUR. This weekend, he will take the stage in Lowell, MA (2/7), Uncasville, CT (2/8), and Washington, D.C. (2/9). Evans has been added to the lineup for ACM Lifting Lives Presents: Borderline Strong, an evening dedicated to Help, Hope and Healing, on Monday, February 11 in Thousand Oaks, CA. Then, he will join DAN + SHAY THE TOUR as direct support, kicking off February 28 in New Orleans, LA.
