Australian-born country star Morgan Evans has released his brand-new EP, The Country and the Coast: Side A, via Warner Music Nashville today (LISTEN HERE) amidst being announced as the headliner of Australia's biggest country festival, CMC Rocks. Evans also recently shared the official music video for the project’s lead single, “Love Is Real” (WATCH HERE), which is climbing the US airplay charts now after spending nine consecutive weeks at No. 1 at Australian country radio.
The Country And The Coast: Side A is a collection of songs produced by Grammy nominated producer Dan Huff and Jimmy Robbins. After years of touring as a solo artist and a loop pedal, Morgan approached this EP, returning to his roots of building his sound around a full band experience.
"On this record, I wanted to capture the energy of a live band and, through the songs, tell more of my own story,” explained Evans. “This is Side A, and I consider this ‘The Country’ side, taking influence and inspiration from a lot of the music that, when I discovered it, made me want to spend my life playing music. I’m so proud of this EP and hopefully after you play it, loud of course, you’ll have a full heart, a smile on your face and get to know me a little better at the same time."
The15th anniversary show for Australia’s biggest international country music festival, CMC Rocks 2022, will serve as a homecoming performance for Evans, who was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The festival will run Friday, September 23rd to Sunday, September 25th in Willowbank, Ipswich, and the full line-up will be announced in early 2022. Evans is currently on the road with country star Brett Eldredge for his Good Day Tour, with remaining stops in Colorado, Utah, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New York.
A rising international star, Evans has earned nearly 610 million global career streams to date and in 2020 was selected as one of Country Radio Seminar’s elite New Faces of Country Music. His debut single, “Kiss Somebody,” topped the US charts and fan favorite track “Day Drunk” spent 25 weeks at No. 1 in Australia. Both tracks are featured on his critically lauded debut album, Things That We Drink To, which was awarded Best Country Album at Australia’s ARIA Music Awards. Along with releasing new music and performing across the country, Evans has been sharing his global perspective on country music and showcasing performers from around the world as the host of Country Wide Radio on Apple Music.
