Warner Music Nashville singer / songwriter Ian Munsick made his major label debut with an ode to the canyons and cottonwoods of Wyoming in “Long Haul” (listen HERE). At the request of his fans, Munsick is offering another look into the places that raised him with banjo-laced love song “Me Against the Mountain” (listen HERE). Said Munsick simply: “We all got mountains to move, but if love is on the other side, it’s a little bit easier.”
Twenty-seven-year-old Munsick has spent the last half decade honing his craft in Nashville, blending his Rocky Mountain sound with progressive elements and new-school production. Geared up to bring western back into country, he has already tallied 25 million streams on his independently released music and been honored with the 2018 iHeartRadio’s Rocky Mountain Song of the Year.
The Sheridan, WY native introduced his wide-open sound and image-laced lyrics earlier this year with “Long Haul,” earning praised from Billboard who declared, “Between Munsick’s distinctive voice and the mandolin-laced melody, mid-tempo ‘Long Haul’ is a testament to a lasting commitment no matter what comes. Also, at a time when many of us [are] in lockdown, the visuals of Munsick’s native Wyoming are a feast.” He penned the song alongside Jamie Kenney and Dave Villa, draping the western landscape with a tender relationship.
