NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (February 9, 2017) – Just in time for Valentine’s Day, five-time GRAMMY© nominee, Hunter Hayes, serenaded one lucky couple who chose to exchange vows on the TODAY show this morning with an intimate performance of Hayes’ No. 1 single “Wanted." Ranked by Billboard as the third-greatest country single of all time according to chart performance, it also recently received 5x Platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America—with over 5 million track equivalents.
“It’s always really special to be a part of a couple’s wedding day. This will be something they remember for a long time and performing “Wanted” for them was an honor,” says Hayes. “Wanted” was a song that taught me a lot about songwriting. I didn’t think I was even going to cut it for my debut record and the trajectory of it has been incredible. To have a song I really love be No. 1 for 2 weeks straight and now 5-times Platinum is a great feeling.”
The recording artist, praised by Entertainment Weekly as “an undeniable songwriting talent,” is preparing to release the final installment of his innovative, three-part movie series, “Pictures,” which debuts on Valentine's Day at Regal Cinema in Nashville, Tennessee. The premiere will feature a panel discussion with the actors, director and screenwriter and a live performance from Hayes himself. The series, hailed by Rolling Stone as “ambitious,” is comprised of three brand-new songs that have been written and released by Hayes over the last three months including “More,” “You Should Be Loved” (featuring The Shadowboxers) and “This Girl.”
