Joining Tim & Faith on Tour This Summer; New Spotify Singles Session Out Now
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (March 22, 2018) – ACM New Male Vocalist nominee Devin Dawson received the ultimate surprise when he stopped by ELLEN to perform his Top 5 debut “All On Me” (WATCH HERE). Ellen DeGeneres herself presented the shocked singer/songwriter with his very first RIAA Gold-certified plaque, with the single having surpassed 500,000 track equivalents sold. He also recently performed the “sensitive, selfless love song” (Rolling Stone) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which will re-air Monday (3/26).
Additionally, it was announced this week that the Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville breakout star is set to join Tim McGraw & Faith Hill for the summer 2018 leg of their critically-acclaimed Soul2Soul The World Tour (full dates below). The NorCal-native’s “intoxicating swirl of pop, R&B, and rock” (Entertainment Weekly), which he’s sharing on the road now for Brett Eldredge’s “The Long Way Tour,” is also beautifully represented through his newly released Spotify Singles (LISTEN HERE). The two-song session features a unique performance of "All On Me" alongside a haunting cover of Maroon 5’s "Whiskey."
"I wanted to do something different and get out of my comfort zone,” said Dawson, who recorded every instrument and vocal part himself in Spotify's New York studio in January. “My goal was to make a new statement and show you guys a side of me that you'd never seen. Spotify was amazing, totally on board and supportive of me the whole way."
Having built tremendous early momentum, first performing “All On Me” for Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2017, Dawson exploded out of the gate this year with the release of his debut album Dark Horse to overwhelming critical acclaim. With a writing credit on every track, Dark Horse arrived Top 3 and Top 5 on Billboard’s Country Albums Sales and Country Albums charts respectively, making it this year’s highest charting debut from a solo male so far. As the only country artist on Entertainment Weekly’s “8 Artists Who Will Rule 2018” list and Shazam’s “Next to Know” list, Dawson has also performed his “memorably melodic breakout” (Billboard) on NBC’s TODAY (WATCH HERE). People and ELLE featured him as the only male recording artist across all genres on their Artist to Watch lists, alongside high praise from esteemed outlets such as Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, Billboard, The Tennessean, AXS, HITS, Pandora, Amazon Music and more.
