Readies “Take You Back” for Radio with Nationwide Market Tour
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (January 12, 2018) – Cale Dodds is beginning the new year at an end: today the up-and-coming Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville recording artist released “Take You Back / Like We Do,” the final installment in his well-received trilogy of double-sided singles. With the first two in the series racking up over 14 million on-demand streams between them, Dodds offers the newest pairing of songs to kick off the coming months.
Co-written alongside Zach Abend and Corey Crowder, both songs explore growing up – in love and in life. Dodds elevated future country radio single “Take You Back” to the next level with the simultaneous release of his debut music video, available now. Black-and-white memories meet the sun-soaked hills of Malibu in this Jack Guy-directed piece. Described Dodds, “We shot the ‘Take You Back’ video against easily one of the most stunning landscapes I’ve ever seen. Jack captured the scene perfectly, we had a blast shooting and I couldn’t have asked for a better first music video.”
With his arsenal of double-sided singles three deep and now an official video in his collection, the singer / songwriter readies for a cross-country radio tour kicking off on Monday. The multi-month journey, which includes a stop in Nashville for the annual Country Radio Seminar, will lead to a March impact date for “Take You Back.”
“I woke up with the melody for ‘Take You Back’ in my head years ago,” said Dodds. “I love that it will end up being my first country radio single because it’s a testament to my co-writers and the process we went through together to finish this song. I’m grateful for the chance to share that process, my vision and my story on radio tour. I’ve been dreaming of this opportunity since I moved to Nashville, and there’s no team I’d rather be heading out on the road representing than WMN.”
Recently named a CMT #18for2018 artist, praising his music for being “radio-ready contemporary country with hooks for days,” Dodds is drawing early recognition from some of the most influential tastemakers in Music City and beyond. Rolling Stone named him a November 2017 “New Country Artist You Need To Know,” applauding his “smooth pop-country crooning over arena ready arrangements, distinguished by clever lyricism.” Amazon Music Unlimited included his song “Out Of My System” on the “Best Country Songs of 2017” playlist, while Google Play added two tracks to their “2018 Country Artists to Watch.”
