CRS 2018 New Faces of Country Music Nominee Currently Top 20 at Country Radio with “All On Me”

NASHVILLE, TN – (November 16, 2017) – Atlantic Records / Warner Music Nashville recording artist Devin Dawson is celebrating a month of firsts as he continues to get closer to the January 19 release of his debut album Dark Horse. As a newly appointed Pandora 2018 Country Artist to Watch, he will perform Saturday, November 18, for the first time as a solo artist on the historic Ryman Auditorium stage after receiving his first ever nomination for the CRS 2018 New Faces of Country Music Show®. He also kicked off his very first CMA Awards by performing alongside Luke Bryan, Little Big Town and Brett Young as part of Vevo’s “Live at CMA Awards 2017” live stream. Dawson performed the unreleased track “War Paint” in addition to “All On Me,” the first release from his forthcoming album.

The singer/songwriter’s “Opry at the Ryman” set this weekend will include the Top 20 and climbing single “All On Me,” praised by Rolling Stone for showcasing Dawson as “the complete package” and currently outselling eight singles ahead of it on the chart. As it continues to rise at country radio, it’s also nearing a whopping 40 million total on-demand streams. People declared it “a hit” and Billboard applauds how it “takes a soulful detour from the typical country-progression.” Popdust asserted that the “soothing” lyrics are “everything every girl wants to hear,” with Taste of Country choosing it as their “Critic’s Pick” and raving “his message is as pure as anything the legends have delivered over the decades” adding “it has the industry buzzing.”

Fans anxious to hear more will receive instant downloads of the single, the title track, “Secondhand Hurt” and “I Don’t Care Who Sees” when they pre-order Dark Horse. The California-native also personally curated special pre-order bundles, including the hugely popular Song on Me package that featured a personalized song written by Dawson himself and sold out immediately. Other great merchandise options and additional packages are still available here while they last: https://store.warnermusic.com/warner-music-nashville/artists/devin-dawson.html.

The only male recording artist on People Magazine’s Ones To Watch list co-wrote each of the twelve tracks on Dark Horse including the deeply personal title track. The album’s subject matter ranges from heartbreak to adventure and has received early praise from publications including ELLEEntertainment WeeklyRolling StoneAmerican SongwriterHITS Magazine and more. Dawson is on the road through the end of the year with label-mate Michael Ray on his “Get To You” tour.

About Devin Dawson

An atypical country artist, Devin Dawson’s approach to music is not different on purpose, it’s different with purpose. He grew up just outside the gates of Folsom Prison, drawing inspiration from Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Marvin Gaye and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Pulling from these influences, he began to write in a style that is definitively country. Dawson’s lyrics, full of romance and vulnerability and delivered with a distinctive saw-toothed vocal, draw you in from the first verse and keep you hooked until the very last chord. Since the release of his debut single “All On Me” earlier this year, the California-native has already made his TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyerslanded multiple Grand Ole Opry performances, and received critical praise from a multitude of outlets. His unique mix of organic roots and high-voltage country is showcased masterfully on his forthcoming January 19th debut Dark Horse, produced by the daring Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Brothers Osborne). With a co-write credit on every track, the result will further establish Dawson’s building reputation as a dark horse set to emerge as one of the most exciting modern storytellers the format has ever seen.
