Dawson Releases “God’s Country” (Acoustic) Video Out Today

The Tennessean said it best when they named Warner Music Nashville recording artist Devin Dawson as “one of country music’s most tender and articulate wordsmiths,” having found a home in country music due to his passion for songwriting. With Blake Shelton’s latest smash hit “God’s Country,” a song Dawson co-wrote with Michael Hardy and Jordan Schmidt, the self-described lover of words is celebrating his very first No. 1 as a songwriter as the “southern rockin’ foot-stomper” (Rolling Stone) tops the charts for its second consecutive week. With nearly 130 million on-demand streams to date, it is thefastest country single in the past year to reach one million track equivalents and ranks No.1 in consumption, sales, and streams among this week’s Mediabase Top 50.

 

Putting his own spin on the song, including his trademark black and white imagery, Dawson has released “God’s Country” (Acoustic) today (WATCH HERE). Shot on producer Scott Hendricks’ farm, the music video is a stripped-down version of the multi-week No. 1, showcasing Dawson’s powerful vocals and emotional connection to the song.

 

Recently celebrating his Platinum-debut hit “All On Me” reaching the impressive milestone of over 200 millionon-demand streams, the Nor-Cal native is making several festival appearances throughout the remainder of the summer.
