Tied for Most Nominated Artist Overall with Six Nominations for 54th ACM Awards; Dan Smyers Receives Four Additional Nods
Performing on Late Night with Seth Meyers on March 11
GRAMMY Award-winning duo Dan + Shay are no strangers to the country airplay charts, but now their smash hits have infiltrated the pop charts as well. This week, they have three active singles spanning four different Mediabase airplay charts, including “Tequila” on Top 40 (#17) and AC (#17), “Speechless” on Hot AC (#23) and “All To Myself” on the Country Airplay chart (#47). This rare feat follows many other record-breaking chart moments for the duo this year and last, as they recently became the only duo ever to hold the top two spots on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart simultaneously for eight consecutive weeks. Their most recent single “Speechless” also is the first single by a country duo to top the Billboard and Mediabase / Country Aircheck charts simultaneously for four weeks in the past five years.
The Platinum-selling pair will appear on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers on March 11 at 12:35am/11:35pm CT, where they are set to perform their latest single “All To Myself” (listen HERE). Described as “a meandering, mellow jam” by Taste of Country, the track is already performing like a Top 30 song as it approaches 55,000,000 on-demand streams and over 400,000 track equivalents. MusicRow related the song to “an intoxicating romantic cocktail, mixed with twirling rhythm and delicious melody.”
“All To Myself” follows the duo’s previous single “Speechless,” which has 246,000,000 on-demand streams and has sold over 1,800,000 track equivalents. The Boot praised the track for having “all the right ingredients to be the wedding song of the summer.” The romantic tune follows the genre-defying mega-hit “Tequila,” which currently boasts over 417,000,000 on-demand streams and over 3,100,000 track equivalents and was the most streamed country song released in 2018.
Dan + Shay recently stepped away with six nominations for the 54th ACM Awards, tying as the most-nominated artist overall. The skyrocketing superstars return to the Duo of the Year category for the sixth consecutive year and received their first-ever Album of the Year nod for Dan + Shay and first-ever Song, Single, Video (“Tequila”) and Music Event nominations. The duo’s Dan Smyers also earned four additional nominations for his work as a songwriter and producer. The pair also received a nod last week for “Breakout Artist” for the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. These nominations follow their first ever GRAMMY Awards win for Best Country Duo / Group Performance (“Tequila”).
Last week, the chart-topping pair kicked off their sold-out headlining run “Dan + Shay The Tour” in New Orleans, LA. The run will continue through April, including a New York City date this week, and they will join Florida Georgia Line on the “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour” in June.
