On stage last night in Omaha, NE, GRAMMY Award winners and leading ACM nominees Dan + Shay announced they would donate proceeds from their merchandise sales to the American Red Cross to benefit those ravaged by the spring flooding in the Midwest.
“At the show, it was spontaneous," Dan Smyers said. "We met some of the people that have been affected and are hurting from this massive disaster, and we knew that we needed to give back. Just before the end of the show, we announced it from the stage. We’re thrilled to play a small part in helping rebuild the community."
The chart-topping pair will begin the second leg of their sold-out headlining run “Dan + Shay The Tour” next weekend in Madison, WI. The run will continue through April, and they will join Florida Georgia Line on the “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour” in June.
Dan + Shay have taken their smash hits on the road with them, including their current single “All To Myself.” Described as “a meandering, mellow jam” by Taste of Country, the track is already performing like a Top 30 song as it has surpassed 58,000,000 on-demand streams and over 430,000 track equivalents. MusicRow related the song to “an intoxicating romantic cocktail, mixed with twirling rhythm and delicious melody.” “All To Myself” follows the duo’s previous single “Speechless,” which has almost 260,000,000 on-demand streams and has sold over 1,900,000 track equivalents. The Boot praised the track for having “all the right ingredients to be the wedding song of the summer.” The romantic tune follows the genre-defying mega-hit “Tequila,” which currently boasts over 431,000,000 on-demand streams and over 3,200,000 track equivalents and was the most streamed country song released in 2018.
The skyrocketing superstars are entering the spring season with six nominations for the 54th ACM Awards, tying as the most-nominated artist overall. They return to the Duo of the Year category for the sixth consecutive year and received their first-ever Album of the Year nod for Dan + Shay and first-ever Song, Single, Video (“Tequila”) and Music Event nominations. The duo’s Dan Smyers also earned four additional nominations for his work as a songwriter and producer. The pair is also up for“Breakout Artist” at the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. These nominations follow their first ever GRAMMY Awards win for Best Country Duo / Group Performance (“Tequila”).
