Critically Acclaimed “Drunk Girl” Climbs Charts at Country Radio
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (January 18, 2017) – With weeks yet until the show, breakout country star Chris Janson has officially sold out his first-ever headlining date at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. The chart-topping singer / songwriter will bring his critically acclaimed live performance to Music City on February 5.
Janson has earned extensive admiration for his “riveting stage style” (People) and “fiery harmonica licks” (Los Angeles Times), with Rolling Stone declaring him “a consummate performer that few other artists can match.” He often describes the work ethic and dedication that lead to the upcoming show in one succinct sentence: “It’s maybe 10 steps from the back door of Tootsie’s to the Ryman stage, but it’s taken 10 years to get here.”
“I could not be more grateful and excited to headline this sold out show in town,” Janson added. “This is a highlight night in my career. I remember playing nights in the bar, seeing stars walk up the back steps and just thinking, ‘Will I ever get there?’ It means a lot. “
The “infectious” (Billboard) performer will treat the Ryman audience to favorites including his Platinum-certified, chart-topping single “Buy Me A Boat” and his most recent No. 1 smash hit “Fix A Drink,” the music video for which capped the CMT Hot 20 Countdown earlier this week. Fans will see his more reflective side on songs such as the widely praised “Holdin’ Her” and his current single “Drunk Girl.”
Climbing the charts at country radio after earning support from 60 first-week stations, “Drunk Girl” has been dubbed by CMT as “quite possibly the most important song to come out of Nashville in years.” The Tennessean declared it a “shoo-in for a song of the year nomination” with its “finely-tuned storytelling, rich with morals and values.” Between a 200% sales increase in four weeks and the single’s stripped-down music video already reaching No. 10 on GAC’s Top 20 Countdown, “Drunk Girl” is beginning to make waves in country music. Janson recently took the “emotional track” (Taste of Country) to the piano on NBC’s Megyn Kelly TODAY.
Following his Ryman Auditorium show on February 5, Janson will hit the road for the Reasons to Drink Tour alongside label-mate Cole Swindell. Find his full list of tour dates and more at www.chrisjanson.com.
