“Fix A Drink” hits Top 15, continues to climb
Nashville, Tenn. – (August 30, 2017) – Chart-topping recording artist Chris Janson wants to reach Everybody with his brand new album, and nothing says it better than the title track. This week Janson talks the meaning surrounding the second song from his forthcoming album, due September 22 on Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville and available now for pre-order.
“‘Everybody’ is a song for everybody,” said Janson. “It’s a world piece. It talks about all walks of life and jumbles them up into one song. I think the words ring really true. From the minute I started playing it live, people got it and understood it. That’s how I measure my songs.”
Featured earlier this summer on his five-song Fix A Drink – EP, “Everybody” is the only track on the full-length album with solo production by Janson himself. The singer/songwriter co-wrote all 12 songs on the record, including his Top 15 and rapidly rising summer anthem “Fix A Drink.” Rolling Stone described the hit single as “a clever kiss-off to the troubles and tribulations of everyday life” while Whiskey Riff praised it for being “simple, honest and catchy as all hell.”
While Janson continues to take country radio by storm, he never lets his live audiences go forgotten. Last week’s double feature appearances at the 11th Annual ACM Honors event and the Big 98 Accu-Chek Guide Guitar-B-Que for St. Jude brought in a wave of critical praise. Both MusicRow and The Tennessean noted the standing ovations after his performance at the Ryman Auditorium, the latter declaring that he “brought down the house with a rocking, charismatic tribute.” Sounds Like Nashville applauded his set at Ascend Amphitheatre later that night, calling it “the performance of a lifetime.”
The “thrilling” performer and “one-of-a-kind, wonderfully inventive” multi-instrumentalist (MusicRow) is keeping the summer alive as he heads into fall on Sam Hunt’s “15 in a 30” Tour as well his own headlining dates, and he will show off his signature “infectious” (Billboard) energy at Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “Soul2Soul” Tour in October.
