Janson to honor Shel Silverstein at 11th Annual ACM Honors event tonight

Nashville, Tenn. – (August 23, 2017) – Platinum-selling singer / songwriter and critically acclaimed live performer Chris Janson is offering Everybody a look into his brand new album, due September 22, as he breaks it down track by track. Available now for pre-order, the record features the five songs on this summer’s Fix A Drink – EP in addition to seven additional tracks, and it all kicks off with the guitar-laden, southern rock jam “Who’s Your Farmer” (full listing below).

“This song was inspired by true events – literally,” said Janson of the track he co-wrote with Buddy Owens and Mitch Oglesby. “Riding a tractor, putting in food plots, I love to hunt. That’s where the song came from. I just thought it was kind of a fun, sexy, quirky title. I can absolutely picture myself winking at my wife, being stupid and saying, ‘Who’s your farmer?’”

The chart-topping recording artist gave fans the first taste of Everbody with his current hit single “Fix A Drink,” which is already nearing Top 15 on country radio and boasts almost 7 million on-demand streams. Rolling Stone described it as “a clever kiss-off to the troubles and tribulations of everyday life” and declared that it was “tailor-made to be a summer anthem,” while Whiskey Riffpraised it for being “simple, honest and catchy as all hell.”

Janson is set to take the stage at tonight’s 11th Annual ACM Honors event at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, where he will be presenting and performing in honor of Poet’s Award recipient Shel Silverstein. “I have always wanted to play the ACM Honors,” he said. “I am grateful, excited and very honored to be presenting and singing on behalf of the late Shel Silverstein. I was raised on Shel Silverstein lyrics and words from his incredible children's books.” The taped special will air Friday, September 15 (9:00-11:00pm ET / PT) on CBS.

The “thrilling” performer and “one-of-a-kind, wonderfully inventive” multi-instrumentalist(MusicRow) will follow his ACM Honors performance with a set at the Big 98 Accu-Chek Guide Guitar-B-Que for St. Jude. He will bring the summer with him into the fall as he continues on Sam Hunt’s “15 in a 30” Tour as well as well his own headlining dates, and he will show off his signature “infectious” (Billboard) energy at Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “Soul2Soul” Tour in October.
