NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (October 18, 2017) – Brett Eldredge takes fans along for a ride in the idyllic new music video for his “sweet [and] soulful” (Rolling Stone) single “The Long Way.” Upon hitting YouTube on Tuesday the video jumped to the No. 1 trending spot in music, No. 3 overall. Directed by Jay Martin and shot right outside of Nashville, it has racked up more than one million views in just over 24 hours. Check it out here.
The singer / songwriter flexed a different set of artistic muscles for the romantic video, joining in on the creative process and coming up with much of the much of the vision himself. Driving alongside reality star Sadie Robertson in a true-to-the-lyric Chevrolet Impala, Eldredge takes “The Long Way” around her town to learn more about what made her who she is.
“My fans have never reacted to a video quite like this!” said Eldredge. “This is incredible! I think we all can relate to the feeling you get when showing off your hometown to someone you really care about, and this video captures that magic. Plus Sadie Robertson is such an amazing person and actress. She made this video extra special.”
Drawn from his recently released, self-titled No. 1 album, the single has already drawn widespread critical acclaim. Billboard declared “The Long Way” proof that Eldredge “has quite the range – while also giving further proof that he’s a king at writing lyrics that make you melt.” MusicRow applauded the single for its “addictive, rolling, rhythmic production [surrounding] a personality-packed performance that ranges from nearly-spoken intimacies to falsetto quasi-yodels,” hailing it as simply “brilliant.”
Fans can see Eldredge deliver the track and other favorites live as he continues on Luke Bryan’s “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” tour into November. The chart-topping recording artist and seasoned performer sang “The Long Way” in August on the TODAY Citi Concert Series as well as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
