Country Superstar to Celebrate Album Launch This Morning on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan
Shelton Gives Five, Wraps Week of World Premieres With “Why Me”
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (November 3, 2017) – Five song world premieres, four television appearances, three live performance debuts, two celebrity impersonations and one massive tour announcement later, the countdown to Blake Shelton’s new album is officially over! Texoma Shore (Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville) is available now in stores and digitally. Shelton started celebrating the album launch early this morning with the fifth and final song world premiere of the week. Penned by Ashley Gorley, Dallas Davidson and Ross Copperman, the track “Why Me” has the country music superstar in disbelief over his good fortune in love.
“I think ‘Why Me’ was the second song that we recorded for this album, and it was the song that really made me feel like, ‘Wow. If we only release two singles off whatever this album is going to be, and “I’ll Name The Dogs” is obviously one of them and “Why Me” is the other one, I really feel good about the chances of having some success for this album,’” said Shelton. “‘Why Me’ to me meets every country standard criteria for a just a great song. It’s a great message; it speaks to guys being guys and, at the end of the day, as tough as it is [for a] man sometimes to talk about his feelings and be open about it, it’s great to have a song like ‘Why Me’ that can kind of say it for somebody.”
Shelton’s early vision of success around his first single has come to fruition with “I’ll Name The Dogs” on the cusp of country radio Top 10 within two months of impact. He will continue his album launch celebration by taking the smash hit to LIVE with Kelly and Ryan this morning (check local listings here). Earlier in the week he treated the Late Night With Seth Meyers audience to sultryTexoma Shore track “Turnin’ Me On.” On Monday and Tuesday the good-humored entertainer enjoyed Jimmy Fallon and Hoda Kotb’s best Shelton impressions on The Tonight Show and TODAY, where he also performed songs including “At The House” and “I Lived It.”
The chart-topping country artist will take tunes old and new on the road in 2018 on his headlining “Country Music Freaks” tour alongside Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and special guest Trace Adkins. Texoma Shore follows Shelton’s last album, If I’m Honest, which was the best-selling country album released in 2016. That album earned Shelton a number of awards, including Top Country Artist at the Billboard Music Awards in May. Earlier this year he became the first country artist ever to win the all-genre Favorite Album category at the People’s Choice Awards, along with the title for Favorite Male Country Artist.
