Adam Levine, Luke Bryan, Brett Eldredge and More Share Congratulations on Texoma Shore
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (November 9, 2017) – Blake Shelton wrote and recorded Texoma Shore in his home state of Oklahoma alongside one of his favorite lakes. The album, which currently has a record-breaking six singles positioned on the Mediabase chart, arrived last week to the congratulations of Shelton’s noteworthy friends including fellow The Voice coach Adam Levine as well as Luke Bryan, Brett Eldredge, RaeLynn and more. The first artist to have six singles on the airplay chart in County Aircheck history, Shelton’s “I’ll Name The Dogs” leads the pack as it climbs through the Top 10 this week.
Shelton explores the album as a whole, sharing: “You know when you put on Texoma Shore and start playing it, I think the first thing you notice after the first two, three, four songs is wow, this album, this guy singing these songs must be in a good place. I am, and I wanted my album to reflect where I am right now. I just felt like, coming out of the last album, I wanted to come out of that dark place and be happy again and be, you know, the guy that people know to be laughing all the time and having fun and cutting up.I think this album is a reflection of that and where I am right now and how good I feel and how confident I feel about where I am in my life.”
His new song “When The Wine Wears Off” has Shelton, like many of his Texoma Shore tracks, at home with someone he loves. The twist on this Ashley Gorley, Rhett Akins, Ross Copperman-penned tune is that this time Shelton doesn’t know if she loves him back.
“I love ‘When The Wine Wears Off,’” explained Shelton. “It’s one of those songs that I think we’ve probably at some point all been there, whether we were drinking or not, where you got wrapped up in the moment the night before and had something that you thought was incredible. There’s always that thing in the back of my mind thinking, I wonder if this other person feels the same way I do about it. I just love it because it’s so real.”
“When The Wine Wears Off” pairs well with Texoma Shore’s “At The House,” “I Lived It,” “Turnin’ Me On,” Money” and “Why Me,” each of which made their world premieres with iHeartRadio other country stations last week. Shelton brought these songs and others to television leading up to album launch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, TODAY, Late Night With Seth Meyers and LIVE with Kelly and Ryan. He performed select tracks from the album on release day in Nashville as part of his Pandora “Sounds Like Country” show.
The first country artist to win the all-genre Favorite Album category at the People’s Choice Awards, Shelton earned a plethora of awards including People’s Choice Award for Favorite Male Country Artist and Billboard Music Awards’ Top Country Artist since the release of his last album, If I’m Honest. The project became the best-selling country album release in 2016 and provided multiple staples in Shelton’s live show. Taking his multi-Platinum selling catalogue on the road, Shelton will kick off the “Country Music Freaks” tour in 2018 with a setlist chock-full of Texoma Shore alongside Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and special guest Trace Adkins.
