Eldredge kicks off new single “The Long Way” with performances last week on TODAY and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (August 13, 2017) – Gold and Platinum-selling artist Brett Eldredge has found somethin' he's good at, and that's selling more albums than any artist in any genre this week as Brett Eldredge tops the Billboard Top Albums Sales and the Billboard Top Country Albums charts. It is Eldredge’s first time to top the all-genre sales chart and his second No. 1 Country Album with 36,200 in total sales and 45,200 with track and streaming equivalents added.

“Some of the best memories of my music career have been celebrating big moments, we celebrate and enjoy them all,” said Eldredge. “I literally have a bottle of champagne in my hand right now! I'd like to say thank you to everyone who worked so hard on this album, and most importantly I want to thank the fans who have been streaming and buying songs, from the first single to the full album. Cheers everyone and sincerely, thank you!”

On the amazing accomplishment, Warner Music Nashville Chairman and CEO John Esposito said, “With his new album Brett has firmly planted himself amongst the leading male vocalists and as a cornerstone artist in this format. His voice is sophisticated yet fun and underscores the beauty of his amazing songwriting. Brett’s new album travels a deep path of human emotions…bright and dark. It will be talked about as a masterpiece for years to come.”

Entertainment Weekly agreed, saying, “True to its eponymous title, the country chart-topper’s latest aptly sums him up as an artist: stomping barn burners, a silky croon, and heartfelt lyricism.” MusicRow magazine recently added, "His upcoming collection sounds an awful lot like an Album of the Year contender."

Eldredge not only kicked off the new album but also his new single “The Long Way” last week with several television appearances, including a takeover of Rockefeller Plaza for the TODAY Citi Concert Series and a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Of the new single Eldredge said, “‘The Long Way’ is a look into what I want to find in love. It’s about getting to know somebody more than just on the surface, getting to know somebody deep down to their core. It’s more than just taking the long way around their town, it’s through their imagination. It’s them telling you everything about where they came from. You want to know every single detail – where they wrecked their bike the first time, where their parents fell in love, the lot where the car they drove in high school is sitting. I think this song says don’t be afraid to have that conversation, don’t be afraid to get to know that person.”

Fans can see Eldredge again later this week on primetime television with the “CMA Fest” TV special airing Wednesday, Aug. 16 (8:00-11:00 PM ET) on the ABC Television Network. Eldredge will perform “Somethin’ I’m Good At,” the first single release from the new album.

This summer fans can watch Eldredge kick off his live shows with “Superhero” as he continues on the road for Luke Bryan’s “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” tour.
